Operation
Pinkspiration is a CIC Limited by shares under asset lock to the Women’s Engineering Society. In May 2023 opened and transformed an office in Cardiff, Grangetown and refurbished training offices upstairs and commercial site down stairs. We received an investment from Natwest Bank and refurbished the offices with a team of 8 volunteers from the local community. We invested around £50,000 into our brand new venue.
Staff
There is a small team of un paid directors and a team of 5 volunteers. Pinkspiration is run with a team of dedicated volunteers since before lock down as funding was completely cut.
Need
During lock down and covid many young people and women, girls have been badly affected by lack of access to finance, slipping through the net, lack of training and up skilling opportunities. There is a clear need to support young people, women and girls. Especially as Chwarae Teg close their door, we feel its more important to deliver workshops that support local people and create opportunities that leave a legacy.
We have around 50 visitors a week at present and since opening our new venue around 1000 visitors since May. This shows a strong demand for the workshops, events and mentoring delivered. Our business would like to work with Grangetown Community Centre and other local charities and groups.

Financial Information
We are in the process of seeking new sponsors and investors to work in partnership to accelerate our growth over the next few years. Attracting and winning new contracts is a vital part of our sustainability and future growth.
We have approached Angel Investors Wales for opportunities to invest in our scale up our business and growth plans to become a leader with encouraging diversity in male dominated industries.
Despite these challenges our team has an ambition for growth. We have reduced our assets and liabilities for future proofing.
As a business we need to introduce paid roles into the business. Our ambition is to grow and continue to offer a good level of community service, workshops and mentoring for young people and community members.
Winning small scale contracts would help to deliver our next project. Our aim is to work with Big Lottery Fund and local colleges to deliver a larger scale programme to support Women into Construction, industry, business and motorsport.
Sustainability
Our model has been simplified to ensure our overheads are low, the only main cost is our new venue. We are experiencing slow growth.
Partnerships
We welcome the opportunity to work with businesses to support our growth and work on projects that boost diversity in industry.
